Writing here on HubPages has been the most fun I've ever had with a computer! Ever since childhood I've loved to write and paint, so unsurprisingly, many of my published hubs are articles about art, and my personal favourite is about the Arthurian paintings of the Pre-Raphaelite artists. The Pre-Raphaelite artists told stories with their art, and every one of their paintings deserves more than a casual glance. I've also written in more detail about my favourite Pre-Raphaelite artist, Dante Gabriel Rossetti and looked very closely at Ford Madox Brown's great masterpiece 'The Last of England', and Millais's 'Ophelia'.

My interest in Art has led me to both buy, and sell, paintings by other artists over the years, and my hub on researching old paintings and prints has proved very popular, and hopefully, helpful!

Other topics that catch my interest tend to revolve around poetry, politics, travel and alternative energy. One hub I'm particularly pleased with features Transition Towns, and I am convinced that these green, community based initiatives are the way forward for all who share our wonderful blue planet. When I first wrote this article there were around 100 Transition Towns world-wide, but since then there has been an explosion in interest, and there are now active schemes running in literally dozens of countries, with many more currently planned.
